Recording of ‘Plants of the Chagos’ members’ talk by Kew’s Dr Colin Clubbe is available to view

A recording of the online talk 'Plants of the Chagos Archipelago' by Royal Botanic Gardens Kew's Dr Colin Clubbe is now available to watch on the CCT YouTube channel here (to skip the introduction watch from 2:37 in).

Held online for CCT members only on 30 October 2025, Dr Clubbe (who is also a CCT Trustee and Scientific Advisor) spoke about the native and non-native plants found on the islands.

From the unique fish poison tree to the invasive coconut palm, mangroves to fungi, he gave his fascinating insights into the remarkable biodiversity of the archipelago's plantlife - and why its protection is vital for the Chagos ecosystem's future.

To attend future talks and Q&A sessions with leading scientists, plus the CCT AGM and annual Speaker Event and reception (the next is due to be held in London in April 2026), join the Chagos Conservation Trust today here.
