Would you like to be a CCT Trustee?
A charity is only as effective as those who oversee and run it. Which is why the Chagos Conservation Trust prides itself on having diverse voices on its Board. Our current Trustees are all ages, and come from all walks of life: from scientists to members of the Chagossian community, and people with backgrounds in finance, the military, law, journalism and diplomacy.
But we would like to expand it further. We are looking for four new Trustees: An experienced Membership Secretary, Scientific Conference Planner, and a member of both the Mauritian-based Chagossian community, and the Mauritian conservation sector.
If you have a few hours to spare per week, and want to help conserve, protect, and educate about the precious and unique environment of the Chagos Archipelago and the wildlife that lives there, then this opportunity could be for you.
Although unremunerated, you will get to work with a great group of people, attend social events and Trustee training, gaining both skills and experience. Board meetings are held every quarter, either in-person (expenses paid for UK-based Trustees) or online.
If you are interested, please send your CV and a one-page supporting application letter to our Director, Sarah Puntan-Galea director@chagos-trust.com - or email our Chair, Chris Davies chair@chagos-trust.com, if you would like an informal conversation about one of the advertised Board roles. We would particularly welcome applicants from women.
