CCT unveils its hand-drawn 2024 festive e-card
To celebrate the festive season, CCT will be sharing a uniquely designed e-card with its members, staff, Trustees, partners, followers and friends this month. It features an original hand-drawn illustration by Martina Reina Canitrot, the Trust's first-ever intern (https://chagos-trust.org/news/cct-welcomes-its-first-intern), and is being sent electronically because it is more environmentally-friendly and keeps Trust funds for scientific work.
Martina’s passion for art developed during her school days, but intensified during lockdown when she created a small business drawing images upon request. “I am grateful to CCT for the opportunity to mix both my passion for the sea, wildlife, and my love for drawing to create unique images, just like the Red-footed booby on this year's CCT Christmas e-card”, she said. Adding CCT's Programme Manager and author of Birds of the Chagos Archipelago, Dr Pete Carr, gave Martina the idea to make the Red-footed booby the star of this year’s e-card due to its festive red feet!
